Walking and hiking short breaks
The hills and mountains of the United Kingdom continue to surprise and inspire us every time we visit for a short break, no matter what the season.
Whether you enjoy leisurely low level, valley floor or high level ridge walking, you can see some of the most wonderful scenery that the UK has to offer.
Walking and hiking in North Wales
Your first guided walk up Snowdon can be simply awe inspiring. Whether it’s in two feet of snow or not! From Llanberis up the easy tourist path, or from Pen-y-Pass via East and West Peaks to the summit and back down via Crib Goch ridge, or even up the Watkin path on the south side, this mountain is impressive.
Walking and hiking in Scotland
Scotland too can be stunning, in whatever season you choose to visit for your holiday. This country is surely an outdoor paradise and a playground for the uninitiated or the expert. It doesn’t take long to get off the beaten track, to experience some truly inspiring scenery. From the surrounding walls of the seldom visited ‘Lost Valley’, to the long ridge of Aonach Eagach, the inspiring buttress of Buachaille Etive Mor, the myriad of pools strewn across Rannoch Mor, to the imposing north face of Britain’s highest mountain Ben Nevis seen from the Carn Mor Dearg (CMD) Arête. Your guided holiday in Scotland will never be forgotten and will always have a place in your hearts.
Walking and hiking in the Derbyshire Peak District
The Peak District, forgotten by so many who live on its very doorstep, probably offers the greatest variety of activities, that appeal to everyone. From the easy guided walks round the reservoirs of the Dark Peak, to the higher level walks upon Kinder Scout and Mam Tor, the Dark Peak is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Further South, the White Peak continues to offer easily accessible walking trails for any short break.
It always surprises us that so much variety is in such a relatively small area, and yet overlooked by many. The Peak District is a natural ‘theme park’ and not to be forgotten. It still continues to amaze us with stunning sunsets, cloud inversions and remote walks.
Walking and hiking in the beautiful Lake District
The Lake District is well known for its many walks, from the sedate to the more challenging. Having walked around the lakes for over 20 years let us guide you to some of the famous bits and also some of the lesser walked routes. We can take you away from the tourist hotspots and into the wild country, with guided walks for all levels, from the beginner to the experienced.
From the big peaks like Scafell Pike in the Southern Fells overlooking Wastwater and Helvelvn in the Eastern Fells to looking down on Thirlmere and the lesser known gentle lower walks such as Mellbreak overlooking Crummock Water in the Western Lakes.
