The Lake District National Park
A gr8trails short break can offer you guided walks and Mountain Biking around the Lake District, based from accommodation in the picturesque bustling towns of Ambleside and Keswick. Both towns cater for visitors through a range of good quality restaurants, cafes and shops.
Walking in the Lakes
The Lake District is well known for its dramatic scenery, lakes and extensive walks. These can range from more sedate low level walks, which look up into the hills to the more challenging routes which look down into the valleys, we adore both and find it hard to choose!
The gr8trails team has been walking around the Lake District National Park for over 20 years. We can guide you round some of the famous parts, but we can also share some, of what we believe, are the lakes greatest secrets on some of the lesser known walking routes.
We can take you to the hills that regularly make the headlines or if you prefer, venture off into the wild country! gr8trails offers guided walks for all levels of experience, from the beginner to the more adventurous.
From the big peaks of Scafell Pike and Great Gable in the Southern Fells overlooking Wastwater, to Helvelvn or in the Eastern Fells looking down on Thirlmere and Ullswater, to the lesser known gentle lower walks such as Mellbreak overlooking Crummock Water in the Western Lakes.
